Diana gave a keynote speech at an ASDA suppliers conference in Morley on Thursday. The conference, held annually, was attended by around 450 suppliers from the UK and from ASDA's production sites around the world including China, India and Europe. The Liberal Democrat Euro MP for Yorkshire and the Humber, Diana Wallis, has said she is 'absolutely delighted' that traditionally grown Indoor Yorkshire rhubarb has received Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) status from the European Commission. Diana met with members of the Greenland Parliament's Committee for Foreign and Security matters during their visit to Brussels recently. They spoke about Arctic cooperation in light of the European Parliament's vote to ban the trade in seal products last year and the publication of the European Commission's Arctic policy. Last week in Brussels the European Parliament held a hearing on the problem of libel tourism. The problem arises because of an apparent gap as to the appropriate court and the applicable law to be applied to cross border libel cases; a gap which appears to have caused some claimants to make a bee-line for the UK courts where apparently high levels of damages are on offer. The UK press has become increasingly vocal on this issue claiming it is having a chilling effect on British media. Diana - 'disappointed by UK government on Wills and Succession'. Sat 30th Jan 2010: On Saturday 30th January Diana formally dedicated the Information Lectern and new seat beside the pond in Swanland. Diana at St Aidan's School in Harrogate. Diana was at St. Aidan's School, Harrogate on Friday as part of the school's weeklong festival of language: 'Communicate with the World'. She met some 60-70 language students from Years 11, 12 and 13 as well as some politics students from the school. Wed 27th Jan 2010: Diana fights for fuel efficient cars.
