Floella Benjamin supports Lib Dem childcare measures

Floella Benjamin & Sarah Teather at the Spring Conference in Harrogate

Floella Benjamin, the well known TV presenter, has publicly declared her support for the Lib Dem childcare measures drawn up by MP Susan Kramer. Floella, who has now joined the Liberal Democrats was snapped with Sarah Teather MP at the Spring Conference by H & H webmaster Alan Williams.

Speaking during the Childcare Debate Floella stressed the need for:

1. 20 hours of free childcare for infants from 18 mths to 5 yrs of age.

2. Employing qualified childcare workers.

3. Expanding the role of children's centres.

4. 19 mths of shared parental leave.

Floella was part of the Lib Dems 4Rs Commission on primary school education.
