Simon Hughes discusses the 2007 floods with Lib Dem Cllrs Mary Kingston & MaryRose Hardy

On Sun June 29th Simon Hughes MP, President of the Liberal Democrats, was shown exactly where the torrential surface rain water became unstoppable and flooded many Anlaby homes.

Lib Dem Cllrs MaryRose Hardy and Mary Kingston described how the water ran down Tranby Lane and caused the brimming open ditches draining Beverley Road to overflow into Anlaby.

Simon Hughes said that he would be taking what he learned back to Parliament to prepare proper defences against any future flooding in the area.
