Cllr Katrin McClure explains Deborah's case to Simon Hughes MP, President of the Liberal Democrats

Katrin McClure as the East Riding Councillor for Cottingham South, has brought the plight of Deborah Phillips to the attention of Simon Hughes MP and President of the Liberal Democrats. Cllr McClure said,"It was an opportunity not to be missed while both of us were at the Party's Regional Spring Conference on Saturday." The conference took place on Sat Feb 16th in Hull, at the Community Church on Newland Rd.

Born in the USA but raised in the UK, Deborah is not being allowed to stay in Britain to look after her elderly mother Betty. Her case has been championed by the Hull Daily Mail and Haltemprice & Howden MP David Davis. "I will do everything I can," said Simon. "Deborah clearly needs to be shown some compassion as she tries to stay in the country to help her mother."
