A 3,809 majority puts Fred Smith back on the East Riding of Yorkshire Council (ERYC)

Liberal Democrat Fred Smith was returned as councillor for Willerby & Kirk Ella on the night of the General Election. With both Jon Neal PPC, for Haltemprice & Howden & Denis Healy PPC for Hull North not succeeding in their attempts to oust the sitting MPs, it was very gratifying for those who worked so hard for Fred to see him win by such a huge margin.
Fred's success was helped by the fact that the conservative party was unable to submit a candidate by the closing date for nominations.
