Many Lib Dem supporters and voters have been made dizzy by the speed of events in Parliament. It has been a big surprise not to say shock, to discover that we seem to have more in common with the Conservatives than with Labour. In any event the Liberal Democrats are now part of the government and in a position to pass some Liberal Democrat policies into Law, albeit in a modified state.
Simon Hughes has gone to some length to explain what has happened since the election. He has also set out his reasoning for agreeing with the Liberal Democrat negotiators in not forming an alliance with Labour on the 'left' of British politics.
