Jon Neal Liberal Democrat PPC for Haltemprice and Howden
Jon Neal has been selected for the third time running as the Liberal Democrat candidate for Haltemprice & Howden. Jon reduced the Conservative majority from 7,514 to just 1,903 when he first stood for the seat in the 2001 General Election. As a former resident of Brough and Howden, Jon is very familiar with the area and is looking forward to fighting the election campaign again.
Jon fully supports the four priorities, which the Liberal Democrats believe will make Britain a fairer and better place. These are :
1. Fairer taxes, with those earning less than £10,000 a year paying no tax at all and by making
the rich pay more through closing the loopholes they use to avoid paying tax.
2. A fairer education for every school child, with cuts in class sizes and more individual
attention for those who need it to keep up.
3. Fairer politics, with a new proportional voting system and with no more big money or
corrupt donors funding political parties.
4. Fairer economics, with a green economy promoting carbon free energy and with green technologies creating large numbers of new jobs as well as an end to casino banking which risks public money.
