Cllr Katrin McClure meets Paul Holmes MP
On Friday 23rd of October local Lib Dem Cllrs & supporters met Paul Holmes, Lib Dem spokesman for Justice & Home Affairs. He was the guest speaker at the Beverley & Holderness Annual Dinner. The event, which was held at the Lairgate Hotel, Beverley, also included Hull North PPC Denis Healy.
During his speech Paul declared his belief that the Liberal Democrats were well positioned to take many seats from Labour at the coming General Election, which must come within the next six to eight months. He said, "Labour is more unpopular now than it has ever been but the Tories are still not trusted to run the country's affairs. The prospect of returning even more Liberal Democrat MPs than ever before to Parliament is at its greatest since the time of Lloyd George."
