John Lee and Alan Haythornthwaite at the Liverpool Spring Conference

Sign Language Interpreters John Lee & Alan Haythornthwaite have been signing at Liberal Democrat conferences for many years. Their hard work has made an immense contribution to the high quality of Lib Dem conferences by making sure the deaf are included in the main debates.

Both John (the one with the beard) & Alan are very strong advocates of teaching Sign Language in schools to those disabled by deafness. They have worked together at Lib Dem conferences so that every major speaker is translated at every occasion. Always patient and full of extraordinary good humour the team hope to continue their services to the party for as long as they can.
