Lord William Wallace was guest speaker at the Hull North Xmas Dinner celebrated at the Marrakech Restaurant in Princes Avenue on Friday 14th of December. Stepping in to cover for Liberal Democrat leadership contender and now leader Nick Clegg, Lord Wallace congratulated Hull's Liberal Democrats for taking the party from one council member in 1997 to running the council in 2007.
Hull North PPC Denis Healy declared his determination to take the Parliamentary seat from Labour at the next General Election and urged his fellow Liberal Democrats to give his campaign the kind of support which put the Liberal Democrats into power in the city.
Haltemprice & Howden PPC David Nolan assured Lord Wallace that the Liberal Democrats in the East Riding were working closely with their counterparts in Hull and looking forward to more success in the future.
