In the wake of the row about donations to political parties, Liberal Democrats have challenged the Conservative's Shadow Home Secretary David Davis to 'come clean' about donations to his own political war-chest.
Liberal Democrats want answers to these three questions:
1. How much of the £95,336 raised for his 2005 General Election campaign came from big donors outside
the Constituency?
2. Was any of this money channelled from Florida-based Tory Lord Ashcroft?
3. The Midlands Industrial Council gave David Davis £40,000 towards his General Election campaign and
the Liberal Democrats would like to know what they expected to receive in return?
Said Lib Dem constituency Chairman Alan Williams, " At a time when the spotlight is rightly on the way political parties are funded in this country, it is important that David Davis comes clean on exactly where his funding is coming from and who is providing it."
